As a graduate of the National Art School, Sydney, Jan has been a Graphic and Exhibition Designer all her working life in Australia, New Zealand and Solomon Islands. Significantly, work with the National Parks and Wildlife Service of NSW, and the National Museum of Victoria were followed by a wide range of work in freelance design and teaching
Since returning to Australia with her family in 1998, Jan has played a significant role in the development of the Port Pirie Regional Art Gallery and has coordinated many community arts projects in the Southern Flinders region of South Australia.
Recently she has returned to her passion for drawing, a love of the beautiful line, and is a founding member of Germein Art Focus.
With her fascination for contour and fine detailed, microscopic observations of natural objects, Jan has developed her abstract drawing style after struggling with the transition from commercial design to the freedom of thinking fine arts affords her; an emerging and ongoing process of discovery.
